Nickname: Sergus Maximus, The Beast
Breed: Black Cat
Story: He was the runt of the litter and spent most of his early days hiding under the bed in Ryan’s apartment. Over time, he’s learned that he does in fact crave human affection and attention. Now he is one of the friendliest and nicest cats around. Unless you try to pick him up, he’ll let you poke and prod at him at your leisure.
Nickname: Fresca the Pup, Mini Monster, Fresca-Boo
Birthday: 12.13.13 (best guesstimate)
Breed: DNA tests point to parents that are 1/2 Rottweiler, 1/2 Anatolian Shepherd and 1/2 Rottweiler, 1/2 Doberman
Story: Fresca was picked up by Animal Care & Control. With nobody claiming her as their own and both the SPCA and German Shepherd rescue (she looked like a Shepherd mix) without space for her, another local rescue group stepped in. Within a few days, she found a home with us.
Nickname: Monster, Sasha-Bear
Breed: Australian Kelpie / German Shepherd Mix
Story: Sasha joined our family in August 2011. We were looking to adopt an active adult dog, and she fit the bill (at age 7). She was incredibly energetic, and it took us time to figure out how to keep her stimulated enough. She enjoyed learning new tricks, long walks at the beach, and chasing squirrels at the neighborhood park. In 2014, she was diagnosed with lymphoma, and in August 2014, we said goodbye to our sweet gal.
