Beer-Buzzed for Boobs and Button-Pushing

On Saturday, 2010 BreastFest benefit for the Charlotte Maxwell Complementary Clinic took place in San Francisco’s Fort Mason Center. With 46 breweries from California and beyond present for the tastings, I was super stoked when Gene [his recap] hooked me up with a ticket! Drinking and eating for the sake of boobies – sure, why not?

The group was handed small beer tasting glasses when we walked in, and even with the smaller sized glass, there was no way we could try EVERYTHING. At some point, we just took sips from each others’ glasses and even asked for smaller tasting sizes. It was a good time, and we all left feeling buzzed and happy. So much beer, so little time/tummy room.

Don’t worry – I’ve started working with the Weighted Sports Hula Hoop to reduce that inevitable beer belly!

As a friend had suggested, I started looking into the Lego video game series. Since it was on sale, we went ahead and got Lego Indiana Jones 2: The Adventure Continues.

RV and I started playing this afternoon. While it was difficult at first, it was not impossible to pick up. It was a bit frustrating when we really didn’t know what the objective for a particular segment of the game was. However, with some combined brain muscles working together, we figured it out, and it became fun once you got going. Since we are still figuring out how things work, there’s a LOT of random button-pushing on my part.

We were able to get through parts of the game and unlock some new levels, so that’s a good sign, right? I’m just glad I’m not trying to figure this out on my own as I probably would’ve given up much earlier on in the game.

We have sooo many games for the Wii (including this one), but I have yet to play it! It’s hard for me to sit down to play when there’s a gazillion things I have to do :)

I totally understand. We’re not too attached to gaming, so it makes for a nice break in between everything else we’re doing.

There’s still time for you to make it up to Portland for the Oregon Brewer’s Festival. Three days of sampling/drinking 81 different types of beer on a waterfront park under the lovely, lovely sunshine!

I have some other plans for the weekend, but a few of my friends who are big beer fanatics will definitely be up there for that!

I’m still sore from digging holes in your yard. The downside of overzealous activity is you’re out of commission for half a week after :(

I was working on it all week and now I’m crippled

oooh!! a weighted hula hoop? i must look into this.

so glad you had a lovely time at the beer tasting :)

If you DO get a weighted one, I’d say 3-lbs would probably be enough. the 5-lb. hoop hurts a little too much!

Are the lego games fun? I have been wanting a new game for my DS or Wii. Also, I have been wanting to try the weighted hula hoop workouts. I have always been an amazing hula hooper, so I want to try it out!

The Lego games are fun, but require a little bit of problem solving in determining what it is they are asking you to complete for the level. RV and I just have our characters wandering around, breaking stuff, trying to get in doors, etc, and it’s a good game to play with others. It’s a little less frustrating. :)

In terms of the hula hoop, if it IS weighted, go for something that is 3 or 4 pounds. 5 is a bit much and hurts! Good luck. Let me know how it goes if you do get one.
