What I am thankful for today: A good [aka relatively drama-free] relationship with the sister!
When I first moved back to San Francisco, I didn’t really have friends to go out and do stuff with. The one person I knew I could count on to hang out with me at the time was the sister. She and I are close in age and have similar interests, so it was pretty easy to find stuff to do together.
We didn’t always get along, and I am definitely guilty of picking on her when we were kids. That’s what older siblings do! Thankfully she doesn’t hold it against me too much, and not only do we hang out in San Francisco now, we also travel together too. The Hawaii trip probably wouldn’t have happened if she didn’t insist that I go with her, and we certainly wouldn’t have eaten so well if she hadn’t pulled together her foodie spreadsheet. The last time we went on a trip together was Spain, and that was over three years ago!
It’s not a hunky dory relationship, but we work it out.
